QUILT SHOW ENTRY MATERIALS
We hope everyone has started putting the finishing touches on the quilts you plan to enter. If not, get busy!! The time for the show will soon be here. Also, the entry forms must be completed and to Barbara Engler by March 15th.
At our February 22nd guild meeting there will be Ozark Memories Quilt Show “Admission Gift Certificates” available for purchase. Kay Guadian will have these for sale at the Volunteer Sign Up table. The cost is $5.00.
Judy Cropp and Joanne Ruprecht have been working hard obtaining items for the Silent Auction at the quilt show. They have some very special items that you will want to bid on. All small groups should be working on their own unique baskets for the Silent Auction as well. Remember, these baskets do not have to be quilting/sewing related. Let your creative side go wild with these!! The baskets will be displayed and voted on at our March guild meeting.
Alice McElwain is still accepting items for the Country Store. Please be thinking about how you can contribute something to sell...perhaps some of the items left over from our Trash to Treasure guild day or something you made and just don't have a place to display? Be generous!!
We still need volunteers to sign up for working a few hours during our quilt show. Please be thinking about what you might do to help make this show successful. Kay will have her Volunteer Sign Up table to the left as you enter our meeting.
Also, keep selling those tickets for our opportunity quilt!
2010 Ozark Memories Quilt Show Press Release
Sunday, January 03, 2010
The Ozark Memories Quilt Show Committee would like to remind everyone to be finishing up their quilts for our show in April. The deadline for getting your entry forms to Barbara Engler will be March 15, 2010. Her address and the different categories will be shown on the entry forms. Keep checking the website for updates.
Also, we are having a challenge to our small groups. Each group will be given a basket at our January guild meeting. These baskets will be part of our silent auction at the quilt show and may be filled with anything at all - does not necessarily have to be quilt related. Joanne Ruprecht talked about some different ideas at our last meeting. We will then display the filled baskets at our March meeting and the basket deemed the favorite will earn that small group a prize! Judy Cropp is overseeing the silent auction and you may contact her with any questions. Her number is in our directory. Put your creative/fun ideas into this and we'll raise a lot of money at the auction for our guild.
Start thinking about how you want to volunteer at the quilt show. Kay Gaudian will have the volunteer sign up sheets at our January meeting.
Be sure to pick up additional tickets to sell on our beautiful donation quilt too. About 50 different folks in the guild had a hand in making this beautiful quilt. Remember, this is our main fund raiser and we need everyone's help to make it a success. Contact Bonnie Mangan if you need more tickets.
